INSURANCE:
I do not accept insurance for services rendered. If you would like to submit a bill to your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you, I will be happy to provide you with a statement for insurance purposes at the end of each month.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you need to miss or cancel without giving a full 24 hours notice to the therapist by email or phone call (text is not an option), you will need to be charged in full for that session. This includes illness, travel and any other reason apart from life threatening emergencies. Late cancellations do not allow others to use the time and are costly to the therapist. Insurance companies do not cover cancelled and missed sessions.

STATEMENT OF CONFIDENTIALITY:

Confidentiality:
California State Law and professional ethics specify that communications to therapists are privileged and confidential and cannot be released or shared without the written permission of the patient.

There are however, some exceptions to this confidentiality policy:
The therapist may be court ordered to testify or release records.
In situations where the therapist suspects that abuse of a minor child or an elderly person is occurring, the therapist is required to notify the local law enforcement agency and county protective agency.

Therapists are also required by law to warn an individual and the police, of any threatened serious harm to that individual as disclosed to them during the course of therapy.

Additionally, confidentiality may be broken if information is disclosed indicating that a client may cause harm to him/herself.

Finally should collection on a past due account become necessary the client’s confidentiality may be broken.

Limitations:
In an effort to create a safe and respectful therapeutic environment for your child It is the expressed policy of this practice that a minor’s participation in treatment is for psychotherapeutic purposes only and is not to provide an evaluation of visitation or custody issues. Should any legal issues or disputes arise, privilege on behalf of the minor will be claimed and direction will only be taken from the child’s appointed attorney or the court.
